Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and Japan’s Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda discussed possibility of development of bilateral relations and cooperation in different fields.

The sides stressed that since the establishment of diplomatic relations, Armenia and Japan have developed relationships in a spirit of friendship and mutual trust, presidential press service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The two sides noted the great potential for cooperation, in particular importance of cooperation and exchange of experience in disaster prevention, mitigation of the consequences. They noted that agriculture and industry are also perspective fields.

The officials also spoke about assistance in international organizations. They stressed that Armenian-Japanese political dialogue intensified over recent years, evidence of which was the opening of the Armenian Embassy in Tokyo.

The parties discussed issues related to the problems of South Caucasus and Asia-Pacific region, a common approach regarding the necessity of peaceful solution to the existing problems.

In conclusion, the Armenian President and Prime Minister of Japan signed a joint statement.
