YEREVAN. – Armenia’s political “backstage” is discussing that the majority of the 500 tractors—which Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) Chairman Gagik Tsarukyan had imported during the parliamentary election season—was allocated to the country’s farms on commercial programs, 168 Zham daily writes.

“Prior to the elections this was presented as philanthropy. [But] According to some information, private companies have opened and those tractors are given to them to carry out paid agricultural activities.

[But] In an interview with our correspondent yesterday [Monday], PAP Spokesperson Tigran Urikhanyan denied this information, and added that some of the tractors ‘are acquired by the farms on the commercial principle of hire and purchase.’ And others were allocated to the farms as assistance,” 168 Zham writes.
