YEREVAN. – President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan is scheduled to address the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) fall session in Strasbourg, France.

Naira Zohrabyan, non-pro-government Prosperous Armenia Party National Assembly Faction Secretary and member of the Armenian delegation to PACE, told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

In Zohrabyan’s words, since Armenia’s six-month chairmanship at the Council of Europe (CoE) Committee of Ministers has expired, CoE Committee Chairman and Armenia’s FM Edward Nalbandian will deliver an address, during the session on October 1, and conclude Armenia’s chairmanship.

“President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan will deliver an address in Strasbourg on October 2. It is assumed that the session will discuss important matters in the settlement of the Karabakh issue. The European MPs also will not miss the opportunity to ask Armenia’s President about the decision of accession to the Customs Union,” Zohrabyan noted.

To note, following the talks that were held on September 3 in Moscow between Armenian and Russian Presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Vladimir Putin, Sargsyan had announced that Armenia plans to join the Customs Union and subsequently engage in the formation of the Eurasian Economic Union.
