YEREVAN. – Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan and UK Ambassador to Armenia Katherine Leach on Wednesday attended the opening of British Business School at Armenian State University of Economics.

In his speech during the opening ceremony, PM Abrahamyan said the field of education is a key direction in Armenian government's program, while the improvement and modernization of the educational system is in the focus of the Cabinet.

Abrahamyan said the government is happy to have this prestigious university in Armenia, adding that to be a competitive country means to have competitive education and science.

Being the only one in the region, British Business School will provide an opportunity for foreigners to get education in Armenia in compliance with the British standards, Abrahamyan said.

Speaking during the ceremony, UK Ambassador said the opening of British Business School is just a beginning of the cooperation.

“We will continue to support educational collaboration between the UK and Armenia,” she emphasized.

The school opened as a result of cooperation between the Armenian State University of Economics and Globe Education LTD.

Business school has already announced appplication for master's program in business administration. The students will have a unique opportunity to study two modules, within the same tuition, in other branches of London School of Commerce, including in London, Malta and elsewhere. Teaching is conducted by professors from the UK, in partnership with local high-skilled professionals.
