YEREVAN. – The wordings in the final document, which was adopted with the provocation of Azerbaijan and Turkey at the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit in Istanbul, completely distort the essence of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, which is a result of Azerbaijan’s policy of pressuring by military means the Nagorno Karabakh people’s right to self-determination.

Shavarsh Kocharyan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, told the aforementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“With such wordings, the respect for the right of peoples to self-determination, which is also one of the objectives of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and the majority of the member states of this organization was formed on its basis, is rejected,” the Armenian deputy FM noted. “Real aggressor Azerbaijan is presented as the victim, which it will consider as a support to its efforts to launch a new wave of aggression and attach a religious tone to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.”

In his words, it is bewildering that Azerbaijan, which fights against a self-determined people with the methods of radical terrorist organizations, and Turkey, which propagates a wave of regional instability, terrorism and bloodshed, managed to yet again include their provocative approaches—which are contrary to the efforts by the international and intermediary countries—in the OIC document.
