YEREVAN. - The Council session of Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP)—which is slated for December 3—will be held in the framework of the petition to party’s former leader Gagik Tsarukyan to return to politics.

The content and further actions of the party congress, which is to be held in February, depends on the result of the aforementioned session.  Tsarukyan’s answer to the petition of the party members will ascertain the key message of the congress.

Talking to Armenian News – NEWS.am, PAP faction MP Lyova Khachatryan didn’t refute the news concerning the expected discussion on Tsarukyan’s return. “I don’t think the issue has to do with the petition. The council will present its positions on this and probably turn to Mr Tsarukyan asking him to return,” the MP said, adding that everything depends solely on Tsarukyan’s will.

“I don’t think there might be other issues: institutions which the council session will be convened for, have such a wish. As to what Tsarukyan’s answer will be, let’s wait and see.”

To the question as to whether without Tsarukyan they have enough resources to rank the second in 2017 parliamentary elections, Khachatryan said: “The elections in Gyurmi showed what resources we have. Of course, that wouldn’t be what we had during Tsarukyan’s time.”

According to the MP, together with Tsarukyan they will be able to reach better positions.
