The State Security Service of Azerbaijan has prevented a terror attack.

During a special operation, a suicide bomber was eliminated, haqqin.az reports, citing the Public Relations Department of the Azerbaijani State Security Service.

According to the source, the operative investigative actions carried out by the State Security Service of Azerbaijan established that Azerbaijani citizen Jami Emin Azizaga oglu (born in 1978), who was neutralized in 2007 and convicted for participating in a terrorist group controlled by Naifa al-Badawi, also known as Abu Jaraf, after being released pledged allegiance to the leadership of an unknown international terrorist group, which carried out military actions outside Azerbaijan, and planned to carry out another one in the territory of the country, using firearms and explosives.

In connection with this, a special operation was carried out near the Bina shopping mall in order to detain Emin Jami. However, the man showed resistance, attempting to blow up the explosive device fixed on him.

In a retaliatory measure, the law enforcement officers eliminated the terrorist on the ground. The investigative operative measures are currently underway.
