The authorities of Armenia will confirm the new nuclear power plant (NPP) construction schedule, in late September.
The aforementioned is noted in the government’s 2017 work program, which was approved at Thursday’s Cabinet session.
In addition, the agencies, which will be in charge of carrying out the respective measures, will be determined.
Construction of the new NPP unit is set to begin in 2018, and it is planned to be put into operation in 2027, when the currently operating nuclear plant is decommissioned.
In April 2016, the Russian government confirmed that it continues to consider the possibility of participating in the construction of the new nuclear plant of Armenia.
