Cyprus Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides hopes 2017 will be a year of progress in the settlement of conflicts in the Council of Europe area, including Karabakh conflict.

“I hope that 2017 will be a year of progress in the settlement of the conflict in Georgia, as well as the other geographical areas of the Council of Europe where there are conflicts and tensions. Of course, I am thinking first and foremost of Ukraine, but also of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the situation in the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova,” he said in his address to the PACE delegates.

Cyprus has assumed chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.
