The trials of Saif al-Islam and 36 more representatives of Muammar Gaddafi’s regime do not meet international standards, reads the UN report.

According to the document, that process was a serious attempt to hold those responsible for serious crimes accountable, whereas the court hearings were held with gross violations of norms, informs the UN radio.

It should be noted, that Tripoli Court sentenced Muammar Gaddafi's son, Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, to death in absentia. According to the media, he is in prison in Zintan. The UN highlights that Saif al-Islam Gaddafi’s trial should be  sent to the International Criminal Court, in accordance with the international obligations of Libya.
