BRUSSELS. - We can speak with satisfaction about the joint achievements in the Armenian-EU relations throughout the recent two years.

President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan said the aforementioned at the meeting with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Federica Mogherini in Brussels on Tuesday.

At the meeting reference was made to the reforms implemented in different spheres of Armenia, the large-scale work implemented after the Constitutional amendments aimed at the further development and strengthening of democratic institutions in the country, as well as the upcoming parliamentary elections. 

Upon the request of Ms Mogherini, President Sargsyan briefed her on the preparatory activities, thanking for the EU support to the holding of elections.

The interlocutors also discussed the Karabakh conflict settlement process, as well as the existing issues and concerns. The President presented in detail the destructive conduct of Azerbaijan and its regular provocation on the state border of Armenia, as well as its withdrawal from the implementation of the agreements reached in Vienna and Saint Petersburg, which according to him, challenge the long-term efforts and the entire negotiation process aimed at the peaceful settlement of the conflict.
