ETCHMIADZIN. – The Catholicos of All Armenians, Karekin II, on Thursday received Ignacio Sánchez Amor, head of the election short-term observation mission of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR).

Sánchez Amor expressed his joy over visiting the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, the spiritual center of all Armenians, stressing that his visit to Armenia was now becoming more complete and enabling him to get familiarized with the country and the Armenian people.

The Catholicos, for his part, thanked the OSCE for its Minsk Group efforts to achieve a pacific resolution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Also, he expressed satisfaction with the OSCE/ODIHR election observation mission, and expressed confidence that this mission will contribute to the successful holding of Sunday’s parliamentary election in Armenia.
