YEREVAN. - Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan on Tuesday chaired a working consultation on the implementation process of Kumayri historical center of Gyumri, the second largest city of Armenia.

It was reported to the premier that the process of registering the Kumayri Revival non-public contractual specialized investment fund and opening accounts has ended, the activities aimed at attracting investments and acquiring the property existing in the center having started.

According to the officers in charge, the private sector takes great interest in the program. It was also noted that the construction work aimed at improving the infrastructures is also being carried out successfully and will be completed in the fall of the current year.  

Apart from this, a number of issues on the further steps of the program implementation were discussed.

The premier instructed the officers in charge of Kumayri historical center development program to organize the work as soon as possible. Karapetyan also underscored the significance of this program as a guarantee for fostering tourism in Gyumri, which will not only contribute to the economic progress of the city but also change the atmosphere.
