Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad dismissed Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki who has been in office for 7 years.
According to IRNA, head of Iranian Atomic Energy Organization of Ali Akbar Salehi was appointed the acting Foreign Minister. Salehi also holds the post of Iranian Vice President.
The reasons of dismissal are not reported.
