Israeli police broke up rally at Damascus Gate in Jerusalem, RIA Novosti reported.
Several dozen people gathered there shouting mottos and “Allahu Akbar”. The police ripped the poster from protesters with US President Donald Trump's caricature and tried to detain the activists. However, the protesters escaped.
The protesters moved towards the streets of Jerusalem.
According to the AFP, the Israeli police enhanced security measures deploying extra police in the Old City, East Jerusalem and West Bank. Hamas Palestinian movement called for a “day of rage” Friday, urging Palestinians to protest President Donald Trump’s plan to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
