YEREVAN.- The possibility of sabotages on the line of contact has decreased, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan said in an exclusive interview with Armenia TV.

According to him, minimization of the possibility of sabotages is connected with installation of new equipment on the line of contact.

"For a long time, after installing the equipment, two or three attempts were made, all of them failed with great losses, and now the possibilities for subversion have decreased," the president said, adding: "Be sure that there are concrete steps which also exclude such actions. When we said that sabotage would be ruled out, many expressed doubt. I can state with full responsibility that other actions will also be excluded.”

As the president noted, the army is constantly being reformed, it is being replenished with new weapons, structural changes are carried out.

"In a few months we will live in a country with other governing system. The Army has been content with what it was provided for a long time.

Now a stage is needed on which the army will be given more attention, and there is room for this."

Serzh Sargsyan isn't concerned about statements that Armenia allegedly turns into the army-state.

"We are forced to do it. On the one hand we are accused of being weaker than Azerbaijan,” the president said, noting that, “on the other, we are simply obliged to have that minimum which will give the chance to resolve issues of our safety. We haven't allowed ourselves such a surfeit.”
