At least one person has been killed and two others injured after a shooting in central Amsterdam, Daily Mail reported.

Witnesses claim that gunmen wearing balaclavas shot a male teenager in a playground, although this has not been confirmed by police.

Emergency services are now at the scene of Grote Wittenburgerstraat street and a cordon has been put in place as detectives search for evidence.

The identity of the victims remains unclear but police confirmed via Twitter that several shots were fired. One of those injured at the scene had to be resuscitated, according to the Telegraaf. 

No arrests have been made and local media are reporting that the incident is not terror related.
