National Assembly Vice Chairperson Arpine Hovhannisyan, who also heads the Republic of Armenia’s (RA) delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), has raised, at a PACE committee, Azerbaijan’s recent shooting toward the border communities of Armenia.

“Taking advantage of the recent domestic political events of Armenia, Azerbaijani authorities are attempting to load on the Armenian side the possible failures for the settlement of the [Nagorno-]Karabakh [(Artsakh)] conflict. (…) [But] we [Armenia] are more than united on the Artsakh issue,” she wrote on Facebook.

The fire, which had broken out on the slopes of Mount Ararat—in today’s Turkey, has started to quickly spread again.

The fire, which had started several days ago and because of yet unknown reasons, was contained two days ago; but it had destroyed 200 hectares of land.

The fire on the slopes of Mount Ararat in Turkey’s Iğdır Province is also visible from Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia.

Armenian and Russian citizens have been detained along the lines of the investigation into the recent 20-second-long robbery of a currency exchange office in downtown Istanbul, Turkey.

After robbing the currency exchange office, the suspects had fled to Bursa town. A large amount of money and jewelry was found in the hotel room of these suspects.

It is noted that one of the detainees is Armenian citizen Gevorg A.

Chair of the Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia Tatevik Revazian and deputy director Wang Huijun of the Civil Aviation Administration of China signed an agreement on air communication between Armenia and China.

At the talk, they expressed a view that this agreement will become a legal basis for launching direct air communication between the two countries.

Russian defense ministry said IL-20 plane was mistakenly downed over Mediterranean by the Syrian air defense as the plane was used by Israeli fighters as a cover when they were attacking Lattakia province.

During a phone conversation with his Israeli counterpart, Russian Defense Ministry said responsibility for the downing of the Russian aircraft and the death of 15 servicemen lies solely with Israel.

Later in the day Israeli ambassador in Moscow was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
