The fire, which had broken out on the slopes of Mount Ararat—in today’s Turkey, has started to quickly spread again.

Anadolu news agency has managed to ascertain certain respective details from the relevant authorities.

The fire, which had started several days ago and because of yet unknown reasons, was contained two days ago; but it had destroyed 200 hectares of land.

Due to strong winds, however, the fire intensified on Monday and went out of control yet again. 

Since the fire zone is at a difficult terrain, the gendarmerie is using drones in an attempt to prevent the further spread of the fire.

The fire on the slopes of Mount Ararat in Turkey’s Iğdır Province is also visible from Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia.
