YEREVAN. – The Armenian government approved a package of amendments to the Judicial Code, according to which the Supreme Judicial Court is holding vote to determine the candidate for a judge to be presented to the Armenian president in an open, not secret manner.

The package was presented by the Deputy Minister of Justice Artur Hovhannisyan. According to him, members of the Supreme Judicial Court will be able to vote against a candidate only if the nomination contradicts the established order.

“That is, it is specified when a person cannot be nominated for approval of the president,” he explained.
