YEREVAN.- Political arrogance and cynicism destroyed thousandfold stronger figures than you, Armenian National Assembly vice chairman Eduard Sharmazanov said at a briefing today, responding to Pashinyan’s statement that the euphoria in the country may stay for fifteen years which does not mean elections will not be held so long.

“We know that Bonapartism destroyed Bonaparte, we saw Levon Ter-Petrosyan who had more than 90% of votes. Politicians stronger than they have also been destroyed,” he said, adding that no one can say what will happen in 15 years. We saw how many votes people gave Levon Ter-Petrosyan in 1991 while already in late 1992 there was no person who would say anything positive about him,” he stressed.

Sharmazanov said he did not agree with the claim that not having majority in the parliament the government cannot work effectively.

“If so, Pashinyan should not have been elected in May but directly head to snap elections,” he said.

“We may consider that at that time you [Pashinyan] did not have necessary state resources and needed police, NSS, Police Patrole Service, ministries and other institutions to use them for your campaign. This is what comes to mind, there is no other justifications,” he said.
