Artsakh Foreign Minister Masis Mayilian received a member of the European Parliament, Jaromir Stetina, Artsakh Foreign Ministry’s press service reported.

During the meeting the sides discussed a number of issues related to the Artsakh-EU cooperation.

Masis Mayilian highlighted the need to establish direct relations between the Republic of Artsakh and the European Union, with strengthening of democratic institutions, education, science, healthcare as possible areas of cooperation.

In this context, the Foreign Minister noted the inadmissibility of isolating Artsakh from international and regional processes, expressing confidence that the development of Artsakh-EU relations will contribute to ensuring stability and establishing a long-term peace in the South Caucasus.

The sides also highlighted the importance of intensifying efforts to establish cooperation within parliamentary diplomacy, and exchanged views on issues related to the activities of the Friendship Group with Artsakh in the European Parliament.

Masis Mayilian wished success to Jaromir Stetina in the upcoming European Parliament elections in May 2019.
