Doha announced its withdrawal from the OPEC, said the Gulf nation's Energy Minister Saad Sherida al-Kaabi.
H.E. Mr. Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, the Minister of State for Energy Affairs, announced Qatar’s withdrawal from OPEC at a press conference in Doha and said the organization was informed.

Speaking at a news conference in Doha, al-Kaabi said: "The withdrawal decision reflects Qatar's desire to focus its efforts on plans to develop and increase its natural gas production from 77 million tonnes per year to 110 million tonnes in the coming years,” Al Jazeera reported.
According to Doha, they will continue to fulfill all international agreements, and the decision to withdraw is purely economic in nature and is not caused by disagreements with other members of the organization.
