YEREVAN. – The youth who are voting for the first time in Sunday’s snap parliamentary election in Armenia are receiving a special badge with the inscription, “I have voted for the first time,” and against the backdrop of the national flag.

The chairperson of an election precinct told Armenian News-NEWS.am that, as of 2pm, five such young citizens—three of whom military servicemen—had been presented such badges at this precinct.

“When the person is being registered to participate in the election, our employees are asking whether he is voting for the first time,” the precinct chairperson said. “If yes, then, after voting, we give such a badge to the young person.”

The Armenian News-NEWS.am reporters have observed such badges at several other election precincts, too.
