This is not a defeat, but a success and victory.

Eduard Sharmazanov, former ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Vice-Chairman and Spokesperson, stated the aforesaid during his Facebook livestream on Monday, and in connection with the results of Sunday’s snap parliamentary election in the country.

In his words, they proved that there are 60 thousand concerned citizens in Armenia who stand ready to fight so that there no longer will be enmity and hatred in the country.

“People who were saying that we [the RPA] have zero votes were convinced today [that this is not the case],” Sharmazanov said.

He added that as of Monday, the RPA was embarking on a new and long-term phase of struggle, and he called for consolidation.

The RPA official said Sunday’s National Assembly election was the most disgraceful one in the history of independent Armenia.

But he added that Sunday, December 9, 2018 was the day of revival of the RPA and its supporters.

Also, Eduard Sharmazanov stressed that the RPA will continue the fight, but this time as a non-parliamentary opposition.
