Tehran will respond to EU sanctions on Iranian citizens who are accused of terrorism, said the spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry Bahram Ghasemi.

The European Union Council has included two Iranian citizens in the sanctioned list as well as the structure of the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and Security in response to the recent attacks in Europe, Tasnim reported.

In addition, the Council also extended the sanctions on previously listed individuals, groups and structures after a semi-annual review. Now the list includes 15 individuals, 21 group and structure.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said earlier that the accusations against Tehran do not relieve Europe of responsibility for sheltering the Organization of the Mujahideen of the Iranian people.

In November 2018, the EU foreign ministers agreed at the talks in Brussels to consider expanding the sanctions list against Iran over the scandal in Denmark .

Denmark previously recalled the ambassador from Tehran amid reports of illegal activities of Iranian intelligence services in the country. The head of the Danish Intelligence and Security Service (PET) said that the Iranian intelligence services were preparing an assassination attempt.

The Iranian MFA summoned the Ambassador of Denmark and protested the statements on the activities of the Iranian special services in the country.
