YEREVAN. – Functions of the National Assembly of Armenia’s Standing Committee on Foreign Relations have been considerably reduced, according to Hraparak (Square) newspaper.

‘“The reason is the inexperience of Ruben Rubinyan, chairman of the committee (…). Today several key domains have already been ‘alienated’ from the foreign relations committee (…),’ said the representative of [parliamentary majority] ‘My Step’ [Alliance].

‘“There is another problem: Who will be the head of the Armenia delegation to PACE [Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe]? Until recently it was said that it is Ruben Rubinyan.’ [But] Hovhannes Igityan [also] was talked about [in this regard]. Will he head the delegation to PACE? Hovhannes Igityan said: ‘To be honest, I don’t know; the matter of the delegation isn’t resolved yet,’” Hraparak wrote.
