YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Acting Education and Science Minister Arayik Harutyunyan, who is on a working visit to the US, on Thursday visited the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) where he met with Willeke Wendrich, Director of the Cotsen Institute of Archaeology at the UCLA Department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures.

They discussed the prospects for the development of cooperation with Armenia and made several arrangements, the Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The Armenian acting minister met also with Peter Cowe, Grigor Narekatsi Chair in Armenian Language and Culture at the UCLA Department of Near Eastern Languages and Cultures. They conferred on future joint activities.

In addition, Harutyunyan paid a visit to the University of Southern California (USC) where he met with Salpi Ghazarian, Director of the USC Institute of Armenian Studies. They reached an agreement on making use of the opportunities of the Armenian diaspora and of the potential of this institute toward the development of education and science.
