There were 1,901 cases pending for Armenia in the European Court of Human Rights by January 1, 2019, a small increase as compared to 1,819 n 2017.

Armenia has remained in the top-ten states by the number of pending applications, shows the statistics published by the European Court.

The number of new applications allocated to the ECHR was 167, more than a two-fold decrease as compared to 356 in 2017.

For Armenia, 49 applications were communicated to the Armenian government in 2018. There were 16 judgments, out of which in 15 at least one violation was found.

The total number of judgments delivered between 1959 and 2018 for Armenia was 103, in 94 out of them at least one violation was found. The highest number of violations related to the right to a fair trial, and right to liberty and security.
