There has to be mitigation of taxes, not a sharp increase. This is what leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party Gagik Tsarukyan told journalists at the National Assembly on 13 March.

“For instance, if a businessman has 300 employees and pays taxes worth AMD 10 million, if that AMD 10 million becomes 12, the businessman might declare bankruptcy in three to five months, meaning 300 families will be poverty-stricken or emigrate, and the AMD 10 million won’t even go into the budget. This is why there is a need for consultations regarding the tax increase,” the leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party declared.

When asked if he thought that the country was in a crisis, Tsarukyan said the following: “There is inflation and job cuts. What does this mean? This means that the situation is getting serious and we need to take actions. The government has to open factories in order to have extra money, increase pensions and make other expenditures.”
