Almost all the delegates of the Azerbaijani delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) have registered to ask Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan questions, and registration still continues. This is what Permanent Representative of Armenia to the Council of Europe Paruyr Hovhannisyan told Armenpress.

“You can imagine that there will be questions about democracy in Armenia, regional developments, the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and Armenia’s relations with European and other countries. There will be various questions. There will be 15-20 minutes for speeches and nearly 30-35 minutes for questions and answers,” Hovhannisyan said, adding that the Azerbaijanis’ questions are predictable.

Hovhannisyan stressed the fact that there are great expectations from the Prime Minister’s visit to Strasbourg. “Armenia has a four-year action plan with the Council of Europe and has to start implementation this year, and of course, this visit will also give an impetus to the process,” Paruyr Hovhannisyan stated, adding that the Prime Minister’s visit also serves as a good opportunity for the Prime Minister to interact with the Armenian community of Strasbourg.

On 11 April, Nikol Pashinyan will give a speech and answer delegates’ questions during the spring plenary session of the PACE.

Armenia’s Prime Minister will also have meetings with Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjørn Jagland, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Liliane Maury Pasquier and President of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe Gianni Buchichio. Pashinyan and Jagland will issue a statement for mass media representatives.

Armenia’s Prime Minister, the Secretary General of the Council of Europe and the President of the PACE will officially open the “Velvet Revolution in Armenia” photo exhibition at the central headquarters of the Council of Europe.

Nikol Pashinyan is also scheduled to meet with representatives of the Armenian community of Strasbourg.
