Allegations of the illegality of the decision of the Constitutional Court on the appeal of the second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan are illiterate, human rights activist, the first Ombudsman of Armenia Larisa Alaverdyan told reporters on Wednesday.

They say that the decision of the Constitutional Court is illegal because there are two dissenting opinions. What kind of illiteracy is this? All decisions of the ECHR have the dissenting opinion of judges. You get into a stupor from such statements. This is direct evidence of illiteracy, she said.

According to the human rights activist, the new authorities of the country commit a violation of international law, often simply despising them. Moreover, if we follow their logic of reasoning, then we can conclude that the new government is illegitimate.

“Such arguments are extremely unsuccessful, as they lead the country into chaos…Statements by the authorities that the Constitution and the Constitutional Court are bad are fraught with negative consequences, which may lead to the conclusion that the authorities are illegal,” she said.

When asked about the process regarding the ex-president, Alaverdyan noted that he is personified, and it is even worse than if he was politicized.

According to her, if in the second case there are signs of a big goal, then in the first the whole process is controlled by complexes. She noted that there will be even more such processes because the trend does not meet a clear effective counteraction.
