YEREVAN. – Today, a protest rally was held in front of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia by the relatives of Artur Ajamyan, a soldier of Yazidi decent who had sustained a deadly gunshot wound in the Karabakh Defense Army, and still under unknown circumstances.

They are residents of Artashar village of Armavir Province.

Artur's mother, Gohar Feroyan, insisted she wanted to know the reason why her son was killed; "I want my soldier," she said. “I've taken care of an orphan for 20 years, I have a heart illness. My child was under my care. Bring my child! Bring whoever has killed him! Why did they kill if my child was behaving? "

She said she had spoken to her son on December 1. "He said, 'I'm at the [combat] positions, everything is fine, there is no fighting,'" she added.

Majority My Step faction MP Rustam Bakoyan, who is also a Yazidi, met with Artur Ajamyan’s relatives. He said that a criminal case had been instituted which would give the answers; "If there are guilty, they will be held liable by law," he added, in particular.

The mother of the victim fainted at the meeting. Bakoyan and the crowd helped out and escorted her to an ambulance.
