Armenian News - NEWS.am presents a daily digest of Armenia-related top news as of 02.06.2020:

·       Armenia has recorded 517 COVID-19 new cases, bringing the total number to 10,009.

Also, 6,368 people are currently being treated.

According to the latest data, 3,427 people have recovered thus far.

In total, 158 patients—an increase by 19—have died.

The total number of tests is conducted so far is 59,917—1,249 tests in the past day.

·       Armenia built its strategy on the fight against the coronavirus in phases and made certain adjustments in different phases of the spread of the pandemic, Armenian Deputy PM Tigran Avinyan said on Tuesday.

"We have also created an opportunity to produce tests in Armenia and have already launched production of tests of 100,000 imported reagents," he said. "3-5,000 tests can be produced on a daily basis."

·       A 101-year-old woman who was infected with COVID-19 has recovered and been discharged from Saint Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center in Yerevan.

Nazani Simonyan, who was born in 1919, was taken from Nork retirement home to Saint Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center with a preliminary diagnosis of COVID-19.

The woman’s condition was assessed as severe, also taking into account her advanced age.

·       Head of the National Center for Disease Control of Georgia Amiran Gamkrelidze told Pirveli TV that Georgia can’t open the border for tourists from countries with a high level of spread of COVID-19, including Armenia.
