Greece and Italy have signed a maritime borders agreement amid the tension in the Mediterranean, reports AP.
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis declared that the agreement signed during Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs Luigi di Maio to Athens has helped solve a 40-year-old problem.
“Today is a good day for Greece, Italy, Europe and the entire Mediterranean,” Mitsotakis said, adding that the deal complies with international law and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
