In 2019, the Ministry of Environment of Armenia planned nine actions for implementation that cost AMD 1,719,600. This is what acting Minister of Environment Vahe Jilavyan said during a discussion on the report on performance of the 2019 State Budget held as part of the joint session of parliamentary standing committees today.

“For the first time ever, AMD 343,300,000 was allocated from the state budget for forest restoration and forestation of 810 ha of forests. As a result, the Ministry of Environment planted 7.4 ha of seedlings, purchased 8 specialized tractors and created 1,000 seasonal jobs,” the acting minister said.

Jilavyan also stated that the plan to plant 10,000,000 trees will be carried out in 2021 instead of this year.
