The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Armenia has provided the Commandant’s Office for the state of emergency with model solutions for reopening libraries and museums.

The ministry’s press release reads as follows: “The situation created by the coronavirus pandemic has compelled us to review the traditional ways of operation in several areas of life.

All countries have started applying the term ‘new normal’, which best describes the current situation, and there is no other option than the application of a new toolkit and a new working culture.

All cultural institutions of Armenia realize that they are willing and responsible to open their doors for the public again in this new situation.

In this context, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Armenia discussed with directors of libraries and museums, professional circles and partnering organizations several issues on the future actions and new policy for operation.

Taking into consideration the socio-psychological and economic consequences of the long-term pause of cultural life in public life, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Armenia has provided the Commandant’s Office for the state of emergency with model solutions to reopen libraries and museums, viewing cultural institutions as exemplary spaces for overcoming stress and observing public health rules.”
