YEREVAN. – Zhoghovurd newspaper of Armenia writes: According to Zhoghovurd daily’s information, [former ruling] RPA chairman [and third President] Serzh Sargsyan has recently stated in his close circle that he has no intention of personally engaging in active politics in the near future, despite the fact that he recently gave a press conference and had several meetings with members of the RPA youth wing. Apparently, Serzh Sargsyan has no desire to spoil relations with the new authorities and further annoy [them] against him.

This demeanor of his was especially noticeable during the press conference on the circumstances behinds the four-day war in April [2016]. And despite the fact that Serzh Sargsyan sometimes has meetings also with his teammates or individuals, it is clear also to him that a political fight with the face of him or his close circles is doomed to failure.
