Free Russian language courses, Russian arts and professional literature, educational materials and large databases — all this is offered at the newly opened Russian Center at the branch of Avetik Isahakyan Central Library, which is under the subordination of Yerevan Municipality. The Russian Center has been established at the initiative of the “Dom Moskvi” (Home of Moscow) Cultural and Business Center in Yerevan and within the scope of the events dedicated to the 873rd anniversary of Moscow in Yerevan.

“Education is one of the key components of a developed state. We are glad that the newly opened center will help Armenian children and youth gain more knowledge and know more about Russian language and literature. The opening of this center serves as another step to strengthen the partnership between the Government of Moscow and Yerevan Municipality and the cultural dialogue between the two nations,” General Director of “Dom Moskvi” Vahram Karapetyan said.

The red ribbon was cut by Ambassador of Russia to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin and Director of the Avetik Isahakyan Central Library Hasmik Karapetyan.

According to Kopirkin, the opening of such centers are also important from the perspective of the strengthening of Armenian-Russian relations.
