YEREVAN. – A protest is taking place in front of the office Delegation of the European Union to Armenia.
Among those gathered are women who have fled their homes in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) due to Azerbaijan’s ongoing hostilities and targeting of civilian facilities, and most of whose husbands are at the frontline these days.
They demand that the international organization not turn a blind eye to Azerbaijan's actions and to recognize Artsakh’s independence.
Three of them were invited inside the EU delegation office to meet with Ambassador Andrea Wiktorin, head of the EU delegation to Armenia.
The demonstrators read their letter and message.
"Our only demand is to recognize Artsakh for the sake of salvation. The ethnic [Armenian] people and their culture need to be saved [in Artsakh]," added one of the protesters.
