Moscow hopes that Baku's refusal to discuss a special status for Nagorno-Karabakh [(Artsakh)] will not provoke a new wave of conflict in the region. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko told this to reporters on Wednesday, according to RIA Novosti.
"We hope it will not lead to a new wave," he said.
And asked whether there was an approximate timeframe for resolving the issue of Karabakh’s status, the diplomat answered in the negative. "No, there are no timeframes," Rudenko said, adding that the status issue was very sensitive.
