The chancellor of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, Bishop Arshak Khachatryan, was called to the National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia. This information was confirmed to Armenian News-NEWS.am by Father Vahram Melikyan, director of the Mother See's information system,.

Bishop Khachatryan had recently criticized Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's government.

According to media reports, he was threatened at the NSS with the aim rebuking the criticism voiced by him.

But the NSS press service told Armenian News-NEWS.am that the chancellor of the Mother See was not summoned to the National Security Service.

On November 9, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a joint statement on a complete cessation of hostilities— which Azerbaijan had launched on September 27—in and around Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh). Accordingly, Russian peacekeepers are deployed in the region to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire and the cessation of hostilities. But this statement also stipulates the handover of part of Artsakh lands to Azerbaijan.
