The passenger plane ROMBAC 1-11, which was used by the Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceausescu for official visits to foreign countries, is being auctioned.

The plane, which at one time became the pearl of the Romanian aviation industry, is exhibited with a starting price of EUR 25,000.

ROMBAC 1-11 is the first and only type of passenger aircraft manufactured in Romania. It was first presented to the public in August 1982. It made its first flight in the fall of the same year in the presence of the country's leadership. The first flight with passengers was made in January 1983 on the route Bucharest-Timisoara, the first international flight was in March of the same year to London.
