YEREVAN. – In 2021, the Armenian authorities plan to build a 46-kilometer section of the North-South highway. Acting Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Vache Terteryan stated this at Wednesday’s joint meeting of the parliamentary standing committees on economic, financial-credit and budgetary affairs.

According to him, this construction will start from the Yerevan to Gyumri section. "More precisely, from the Talin-Lanjik and Lanjik-Gyumri sections. In order for the population to be able to use the road between Yerevan and Gyumri faster, they will first build one side—that is, two lanes—, and next year, the second side—four lanes. The project will be implemented with the means by the Asian Development Bank and the European Investment Bank," Terteryan added.
