Captive Lebanese Armenian Vicken Euljekjian is on put on trial in Azerbaijan.

According to Azerbaijani media, the first hearing will take place Tuesday at the Baku Military Court.

"The prosecutor will read the indictment, and the defendant will testify," the media reported.

Lebanese citizen Vicken Euljekjian (born in 1979) is “accused of” taking part in the recent hostilities as a mercenary; the “basis” for this is the citizenship of this captive.

Meanwhile, it is impossible not to know in Baku that many Diaspora Armenians have come to the aid of their historical homeland during the second as well as the first Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) wars unleashed by Azerbaijan. And to portray them as "mercenaries" is ludicrous, at the very least.

In addition to Euljekjian, the Azerbaijani authorities have launched this judicial farce against several dozen other captured Armenians, bringing ridiculous charges against them.
