Protesters in Almaty have taken guns, shields, and batons away from police, RIA Novosti reports.
No police are seen in the city, several protesters gather in the center, holding metal rods and some carrying guns.
It is also reported that during the disturbances in Almaty, the office of Mir TV channel's representative was vandalized, several types of equipment were destroyed, all employees are evacuated, the broadcaster said.
