One of the main tasks of the Armenian peacekeeping contingent in Almaty, Kazakhstan, was to prevent terrorists from poisoning the local water supply system. The commander of this Armenian peacekeeping contingent, Major Hayrapet Mkrtchyan, told reporters about this on Wednesday, according to TASS.

"One of the main tasks was to prevent water poisoning at the Druzhba water distribution point," he said.

According to the Armenian officer, this water distribution point is a strategic facility, and there was a theoretical threat to poison it.

In addition, the Armenian peacekeepers in Almaty ensure the security of one of the largest bread factories.
