On January 26, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, who is in Luxembourg on an official visit, met with President of Luxembourg Chamber of Deputies Fernand Etgen, the Foreign Ministry press service informed NEWS.am.

The meeting was attended by representatives of all political forces represented in the Chamber of Deputies.

Ararat Mirzoyan and Fernand Etgen praised the effective cooperation established between the two countries, including at the inter-parliamentary level. The parties stressed the importance of strengthening ties between the friendship groups functioning in the parliaments of Armenia and Luxembourg, as well as the importance of strengthening and expanding cooperation between the legislative bodies at international parliamentary platforms, particularly within the PACE.

The sides also touched upon the effective implementation of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Armenia-EU Partnership Agreement. The Foreign Minister reaffirmed Armenia's commitment to further develop the cooperation with the EU in the frames of the reached agreement, stressing the importance of Luxembourg's support in this matter.

The sides exchanged views on regional security and stability issues. Mirzoyan expressed gratitude for the resolutions adopted by the Chamber of Deputies of Luxembourg during the aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against Karabakh and subsequently aimed at supporting the Karabakh Armenians, protecting their rights and eliminating the consequences of the war. The Minister also appreciated the position of Luxembourg's legislative and executive authorities on the need to repatriate Armenian prisoners of war and civilians held in Azerbaijan.

The sides also exchanged views on democratic processes and reforms in Armenia.
