A part of Kristapor Street is closed to this day due to the deadly explosion at the Surmalu shopping market in Yerevan on August 14. Hayk Kostanyan, spokesperson of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) of Armenia, noted about this on Facebook Tuesday morning.

"Yesterday, business owners at Petak shopping market [across Surmalu] were demanding to be told an exact day when they can return to work.

I inform that yesterday the officials of the Police, the Investigative Committee, and the MES had a discussion on the issues raised by the [aforesaid] business owners.

A decision was made to [re]open the noted road section one-way—observing the safety rules.

Now works are being carried out in that regard," Kostanyan added.
