Colombian journalists Leiner Montero and Dilia Contreras were killed in an armed attack in the department of Magdalena in the north of the country, Semana reported.
The authorities of Fundación, Magdalena, have confirmed to Semana the murder of two journalists on a local highway. In the area of Santa Rosa de Lima, armed men intercepted the car in which they were traveling.
Another passenger in the car in which the media employees were traveling was injured.
According to Semana, two years ago, Leiner received threats in the municipality of Fundación from one of the influential local families. Because of his publications, he became a defendant in criminal cases.
